Terms of Service

ChatHoot Voice — official platform terms

1. Service Outline — AI Receptionist Services & Fair Use Policy (FUP)

X.1 Plan Allocation

The chatHoot "Unlimited Answering" tier provides subscribers with automated, AI-driven voice reception services. While marketed as an unlimited service for standard business operations, all accounts are subject to a Fair Use Policy cap of 2,500 conversational minutes per month. Minutes are tracked and rounded up to the nearest whole minute by our telephony provider.

X.2 Overage Billing

In the event that a subscriber's total conversational talk time exceeds 2,500 minutes within a single billing cycle, chatHoot reserves the right to charge, and the subscriber agrees to pay, a flat overage rate of $0.25 per minute for all excess usage. These charges will be automatically billed to the payment method on file at the end of the billing cycle or at predetermined usage milestones.

X.3 Abuse and Telephony Fraud

chatHoot monitors usage patterns to detect automation abuse, telemarketing spam, or continuous loop connections. If an account experiences a high volume of malicious robocalls or spam, chatHoot will assist the subscriber in implementing call filtering, but reserves the right to temporarily pause the AI service to mitigate runaway wholesale infrastructure costs.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate business information when enrolling a business, and you may only connect phone numbers and websites you are authorized to use.

3. Acceptable Use

You may not use ChatHoot Voice to place or facilitate illegal, deceptive, or harassing calls, to violate applicable telemarketing or recording-consent laws, or to misrepresent the AI receptionist where disclosure is legally required. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or fail to pay.

4. Call Content

Call transcripts, summaries, and appointment requests generated by the AI receptionist belong to you. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated answers for accuracy before relying on them, and for complying with any call-recording disclosure rules that apply in your jurisdiction.

5. Billing

Paid plans renew each billing cycle until cancelled. Overage charges described in the Service Outline are billed automatically. Accounts disabled for nonpayment stop receiving calls until reactivated.

6. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
